Welcome back to the blog, friends! I am so incredibly excited to share today’s featured session because it takes place in one of my absolute favorite spots on earth—my very own personal greenhouse studio right here on my property in Edgewood, New Mexico.

There is something so magical about this sunlit, boho space, but this specific session holds an extra special place in my heart.

Full Circle Motherhood

If this sweet family looks a little familiar, it’s because they’ve graced my camera lens before! We actually shot their gorgeous maternity photos right here in the greenhouse around Christmas time. Fast forward a few months, and here they are returning to the exact same spot—this time with their beautiful, perfect baby girl earthside.

Getting to witness the joy of motherhood coming completely full circle is hands-down one of the greatest privileges of being a photographer. Standing in the same sunbeams where we captured the anticipation of pregnancy, now watching them cuddle their tiny (and I do mean tiny!) new baby, gave me absolute goosebumps.

I always tell my clients that it is such a cool experience getting to see their kiddos grow and change in little snippets over the years. As parents, we get to see our children grow each day without fully realizing it. Then, one day, we look back on old photos and think “Oh my gosh, when did you get so BIG?!” As a photographer, it’s that same moment every time I see return clients for another session.

Sun-Drenched Boho Vibes

For this session, we leaned into the warm, earthy aesthetic of the greenhouse. While I do seasonal sets in the greenhouse throughout the year, I try to keep it neutral the rest of the year for all kinds of sessions: Maternity, family, newborn and even milestone sessions! My goal with newborn sessions is always to embrace all the tiny details and capture ALL of the newborn snuggles. After all, these are the moments that don’t last nearly long enough.
