I’m here for all of your Albuquerque newborn photography, maternity photography, and family photography needs!
I’m excited to share some big news with you: I’ve recently packed up my photography business and relocated to the stunning landscapes of Albuquerque, New Mexico! This move marks a significant shift not just in geography but in the creative journey of my photography career. I am so excited to share my journey with you as my family and I adjust to all things mountain living, as well as a few photos from my first session as an Albuquerque family photographer.
Before diving into the details of my first session, let me explain why we chose New Mexico. Ever since we announced we were moving, that’s the number one question we’ve gotten. The answer is actually pretty simple: mountains. We love all things outdoorsy; hiking, river rafting, and of course, skiing and snowboarding. There’s not a whole lot of that in Texas! I grew up going to Taos several times a year, and that just really cemented my love for this little state. Plus, known for its breathtaking natural landscapes, vibrant culture, and unique light, New Mexico offers an array of new opportunities and inspirations for my work. The state’s diverse scenery, from the high deserts to the rugged mountains, and its rich artistic heritage make it a perfect backdrop for photography.
On one of our first hikes after moving to the Albuquerque area, we stumbled across this stunning meadow bursting with wildflowers. I knew immediately I had to do a session at this location! I convinced a friend and her family to model for me so I could get some photos before the flowers were gone. The day of the session, I checked the forecast like I always do, but as is typical for monsoon season in New Mexico, a huge storm rolled into the mountains right as we arrived. It wasn’t raining yet, so we hurried down the path to the meadow to get started and utilize as much time as we could. It lightly sprinkled on us for the last 15 minutes of the session, but it was totally worth it! I mean, just look at the results!
As I settle into this new chapter, I’m thrilled about the creative possibilities that lie ahead. New Mexico’s landscape is vastly different than what I’m used to in Texas, and I know the change of scenery will both challenge and inspire me as an artist. I’m eager to explore more of the state, collaborate with local artists, and continue documenting the unique beauty of this region.
I want to thank all of you for your continued support and encouragement as I embark on this new adventure. I hope to bring you along as I explore the vibrant and visually captivating world of New Mexico through my lens. Stay tuned for more updates, behind-the-scenes looks, and of course, plenty of new photographs.
Feel free to reach out if you’re in the area and want to collaborate or if you have any recommendations for must-see spots in New Mexico. Here’s to new beginnings and endless creative possibilities!
Much love,
