You’ve got lots of options when it comes to family photographers in Albuquerque and across the US. While it can feel overwhelming, this is actually a good thing! Having options means you can find someone who you connect with, have fun with, and share a similar photo style with.

You need to find the photographer who is the best fit for your family – but how?! Today I’m sharing some questions to ask and things to consider when looking for your family photographer.

Look at Galleries to See Whose Images You Love

When looking for a family photographer, nothing is more important than finding someone who takes the kind of photos you want.

It’s important to note that a photographer’s style is an art – it’s their signature. I take warm, bold images for adventurous-at-heart families. So if you want dark and moody photos, I’m not the photographer for you. I know on the surface it may seem like an easy thing to ask a photographer to change their style, but it’s kind of like asking a classical musician to play hard rock. While technically they may be able to sort of figure it out, that’s not what they do! 

So pay attention to the images the photographer shares and decide what style you’re most into. 

It’s also important to decide whether you want lifestyle images – that’s what I do best, capturing those candid, in-between moments that you’d otherwise forget – or more posed, editorial images. There’s no “right” kind of family photos… it’s just about finding the style, vibe, and approach you like best!

I offer complimentary chats with any potential client because I want to get to know you and give you a chance to get to know me. Personalities matter, and you want to work with a photographer who helps you feel confident, comfortable, and relaxed.
